Close Finish at Don’t Get Lost in the Woods Half Marathon

After running stride for stride with Drake Houssain for 17 km, Cody Boady accelerated, opened a gap, and held on to win the Don’t Get Lost in the Woods Trail Race on Sunday morning.  Boady clocked a time of 1:40:36  for the challenging 21 km course on the Wapiti Nordic Ski Trails, 2:15 better than Houssain.  Bill Corcoran placed third in 1:43:21.

The womens race was nowhere near as close.  Marlene Corcoran clocked a time of 1:48:05, 12 minutes ahead of runner up Lisa Lauzon.  Leslie Proudfoot was the 3rd women, recording a time of 2:02:49.

Mens 10 km – Cory Shartner 44:26

Womens 10 km – Dallas Deditch 55:43

High School Boys 3 km – Sam Pollock 12:52

High School/Jr High Girls 3 km – Miranda Cowger 13:51

Girls 200m – Emily McCracken 0:50

Boys 200m- Wyatt Schartner – 0:47

A total of xx runners took part in the event which was Race #1 in the 2011 Wolves Cross Country Running Series. Race #2, the Steve Burgess Memorial, takes place next Saturday, also at the Wapiti Nordic Ski Trails.
